Jackets Come In Many Styles
I came up with my own definition of the word jacket after checking-out various sources including online dictionaries and wikipedia: A jacket is an item of clothing worn on the upper area body. Most jackets are most often hip or waist length and a jacket generally is sleeved. Jackets can be confused with coats but note that in general a coat is longer - the three quarter length that Neo wore in the Matrix is a jacket but some might describe it as a jacket..

Vogue Jackets
Blazers
A blazer is fairly equivalent in visual aspect to the jacket part of a suit. Blazers are in most cases employed as part of a ‘smart casual’ look. It has metal sleeve cuff buttons and a breast pocket. Blazers are frequently considerably conservative in color, navy blue for example is a tremendously favored color. Boating jackets are similar in design but are often very much brighter in colour utilizing strong stripes. Leather Jackets
The leather jacket is very famous equally for the image of its style and also for the material it is made from. The word ‘denim’ comes from the terms ‘serge de Nimes’. ‘Serge’ is a fabric and was initially cultivated in the Nimes region of France. So ‘serge de nimes’ evolved into ‘denim’. Denim had a similar fashion route to leather: Initially denim was utilitarian, chosen by workers in challenging environments. Later it became included in fashion lines and became hugely well-known in the 1960s and 1970s.
Many famed design brands create jackets, for example Wrangler, Nike, G Star and Lacoste. G Star jackets are a relative newcomer in contrast to the other better established players. On the other hand the lacoste jacket uk is far more widely known.

The Donkey Jacket
From Wikipedia: “A Donkey jacket is a short buttoned coat, typically made of unlined black or dark blue woolen material; originally worn as a work jacket in the United Kingdom. It is derived from the wool sack coat worn by workers in the 19th century, and the OED references the term as first used in 1929: “one with leather shoulders and back”.
Flak Jacket
Flak jackets are designed and constructed to provide defence to the wearer from offensive items such as knife blades, bullets and shrapnel (also known as ‘flak’). The term ‘flack jacket’ is interchangeable with ‘bullet proof vest’ as worn by armed forces and the police in a great number of countries, that are layered with resilient shielding material such as steel or titanium.
The Chef Jacket
The white chef jacket is easily familiar. It serves a defensive purpose by shielding the chef from burning fluids and fat. At the same time, it is practical - the chef can in a flash turn the jacket inside-out to conceal food spots.
Other Jackets
President Eisenhower, the World War Two President of Amercia had a unique jacket called the ‘Ike’. It was styled to make Ike appear like a warrior having a blouson style.
